Paul Banks

Preludes

Initiated in the fall of 2016 with the desire to provide violin instruction to all students at no cost, Paul Banks Preludes offers all students the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of learning an instrument while building community through making music together. Made possible by a collaboration with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, Preludes offers 60 minutes a week of instruction to all kindergarten and first grade students, as well as 90 minutes a week after school for interested second graders. Since Prelude’s inception, Fireweed Frescoes and Chapman Eagle Ensemble have joined Paul Banks Preludes in offering violin instruction to all students. We are proud to be part of a wider community of young musicians that brings together three diverse communities to share the common language of music.
